Providence Staffing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Temporary Cafeteria Manager Intern to assist in managing and overseeing cafeteria operations within the Brevard County School Food Service Department. This role is designed for individuals with prior experience in food services who are eager to learn all aspects of cafeteria management and operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, supervisory, and interpersonal skills. This is a temp-to-perm position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the cafeteria manager with records, paperwork, and other administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with cooks, bakers, cashiers, and other cafeteria staff to complete daily tasks and gain comprehensive knowledge of cafeteria operations.
• Supervise and instruct cafeteria staff to ensure efficient and high-quality food service.
• Organize and manage food preparation, ensuring adherence to quantity food preparation standards and safety protocols.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with school staff, vendors, county-level personnel, and other stakeholders.
• Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment.
• Learn and apply all aspects of cafeteria operations, including inventory management, scheduling, and compliance with food service regulations.
• Perform other related tasks or services to support the goals of the cafeteria and food service program.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years’ documented experience in food services or related work.
• General knowledge of quantity food preparation and food service operations.
• Ability to organize, manage, supervise, and instruct staff effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive and professional demeanor.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Approval from the Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) District Office to assign personnel to this classification.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in a school cafeteria or similar food service environment.
• Familiarity with food service safety and sanitation regulations.
• Proficiency in managing records and administrative tasks related to food service operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Medium Work: Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.

Work Environment:

• This role is based within school cafeterias and involves working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to food preparation equipment and varying temperatures.

Compensation:

The compensation for this position is $15.25 per hour.
