Providence Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Group Leader for School Age Child Care in Brevard County, FL to oversee and engage with children in a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage daily program activities while ensuring the well-being and development of children. This is a temp-to-perm position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and care for school-age children in a structured child care program.
• Work collaboratively with school staff and other child care team members to ensure a positive and safe environment.
• Inspire confidence and foster positive relationships with children through effective communication and engagement.
• Plan and participate in daily program activities, including indoor and outdoor play, educational tasks, and recreational events.
• Maintain flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and daily changes in program needs.
• Perform basic clerical duties related to the center’s daily operations, including attendance tracking, record-keeping, and communication with parents or guardians.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized environment.
• Support children in resolving conflicts and developing social skills in a constructive manner.
• Monitor children’s behavior and report any concerns to the appropriate staff or supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the child care program.

Qualifications:

• Proven ability to work effectively with children, school staff, and child care team members.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire trust and confidence in children.
• Ability to follow directions and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and program needs.
• Basic clerical skills, including record-keeping and communication.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience in child care or working with school-age children.
• Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate activities.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Physical Requirements:

• Medium Work:
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
• Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, participating in physical activities as required.

Work Environment:

• Dynamic and interactive setting involving both indoor and outdoor activities.
• Collaborative team environment focused on the safety and development of children.
